This week during 20% time I found a photoshop tutorial called Old Movie Effect. This tutorial did just that, it turned an ordinary picture into a picture from the past. The first thing that I did was go to Flickr and choose a picture that was creative commons. Then I uploaded it to Photoshop.

Next, I desaturated the picture, this took all the color from it.

Next, I applied a 1pixel of Gaussian Blur to the picture.

Lastly, I added Grain to the picture which gave it lines vertically.

Photo cc http://www.flickr.com/photos/cobalt/22914203/ by cobalt123

The first thing that I did for this tutorial was create a new document and filled it with a black background. Then I had to add clouds.
Next, I did Filter>Blur>Radial Blur and used the settings it told me to.

Last, I changed the HUE/SATURATION settings and chose the color that I wanted, that finalized the tutorial

This week during 20% time i found a tutorial that showed me how to do abstract swirls that look like black ink when it hits clear water. This tutorial’s hardest part was when I had to get the right wave setting so that the tutorial came out the way I wanted it to. First I had to create a lens flare and place it in the middle of the image.

Next, I had to make lines with the smudge tool. After that, I had to create waves and mess around witht the image until I got the image I was satisfied with.

Then I had to duplicate the layer and create waves with the duplicated layer.

Next, I had to merge the two layers together. Lastly, I then changed the image to inverted which gave it the cool black and white look.

Click here to see my final product

This week during 20% time I went on this website called Absolute Cross and found a neon photoshop tutorial that showed me how to make a neon type look. The first thing I had to do was create a new document with a light blue foreground color and a dark blue background color. After that I had to make clouds of the light and dark blue.

Next, I had to add paint daubs so that it would give the image some sparkle.

Finally, the image came out like this even though I was hoping for a different look. I tried a few times to fix my mistake and correct t but I never did.

This week during 20% time I found a photoshop tutorial called Electrified Solar Flare, this tutorial showed me how to create a cool looking image that resembled a solar flare. In this tutorial I selected a transparent rainbow tool and created lines across the document but I still left some blank space throughout the document.

Then after that I had to make the lines look rippled, then I blurred the image with the radial blur filter.

Then I duplicated both of them images. After that I had to change the Hue/Saturation setting on both layers, this messes with the color of the image.

Lastly, I merged the two layers together. Then I had to rotate the image 90 degrees.

This week during 20% time I chose a tutorial that showed me how to create a blurry image that made an object look as if it was moving. This tutorial was called Prodigy Effect and was pretty fun to do. First I had to select an are around the object that I wanted to look blurry.

Then after that, i had to make brush strokes on that area which were slanted.

After that, the final product came out kind of looking as if it was moving but it would of looked better if the picture had a different colored background.

Today during 20% time, I found a photoshop tutorial called Stone. This tutorial shows you how to create a stone looking image using photoshop. This tutorial was a little difficult and I wasn’t able to achieve the final look that I wanted but it came out alright. First I had to create the image and make it look cloudy.

Next I had to create a different channel, this turned the clouds black and white. Then I played around with Ctrl+F which moved around the clouds.

Then I had to give it lighting effect and I changed the properties so it could give it the stone look.

The final product didn’t come out the way that I was hoping it would but it still looks kind of realistic.

This week during 20% time, I looked on this website to search for a photoshop tutorial to practice on. The tutorial that I selected was one on how to create a laser beam using photoshop. First, I had too draw a big line that looked like a beam to start off with.

Then I had to duplicate the layers, and then I had to set the blending mode to color dodge, this made the laser beam appear brighter, it sort of made it look neon.

After that, I chose to make the laser look a little wavy so it could look a little more realistic and also a little bit cooler.
It shows how people will be able to use the touch sensor on things such as a picture. With a picture you could zoom in, move around, and he even talks about the output of pictures. Some things that Jeff Han did were play with a lava lamp on a screen by moving it around, it looked pretty cool, then he showed pictures and how easy and convenient touch screen was. he multi tasked by showing how you could do a bumch of things at once, like zoom in on a bunch of pictures.

The other video that I watched was called The Power. This video was by Microsoft Surface. In this video the guy also ralks about how touch screen technology will ne helpful in the future. He explains the many different ways that this type of technology could be used, for example sharing and organizing photos. He shows cool ways that it could be used, one thing he showed was a guy dragging pictures from one piece of technology to

another. Another cool thing was when he was showing the maps and he was moving around on them.
